Senior Mechanical Estimator

We are currently seeking experienced Senior Mechanical Estimators to join the teams in our Muir of Ord and Cumbernauld facilities.  These are full time positions, 40 hours per week. This is a demanding lead role which requires technical and professional competence to adhere to tight time scales, whilst leading and mentoring other Estimators within the team.

The successful candidate will be required to prepare analytical estimates and realistic tenders that allow the business sustainability through securing contracts. They will have experience in pricing steelwork, pipework and it would be advantageous if they have experience in the Water, Industrial, Renewables and Oil & Gas sectors. A further function of the role is to calculate and prepare tender submissions, prepare accurate contract costs that deliver the full scope associated with the client brief, with appropriate levels of margin recovery to deliver the required project profitability.

Tender pricing will be prepared from drawings and detailed specifications provided by the Client or Ross-shire Engineering. On some occasions a high level budget price will also be required based on a scope of works only and this will require the candidate to deploy their extensive experience and co-ordination with the Ross-shire Engineering design and project delivery teams.  The candidate will be required to attend client meetings, negotiate and record all changes to tender pricing etc as necessary. The Senior Estimator will also be responsible for assisting the Directors with the complete tender submission as necessary.

Essential requirements: A self-sufficient Senior Estimator who has the ability to lead an estimating team and contribute to the development of other Estimators within the team, holds qualifications appropriate to the role, and has previous experience in a similar role within the Water, Industrial, Renewables and/or Oil & Gas industry sectors.
