Mechanical Estimators

REF: Mech Est

We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Estimators to join the teams in our Muir of Ord and Cumbernauld facilities. These are full time positions, 40 hours per week. It is a demanding role which requires the need to adhere to tight time scales, whilst producing accurate/realistic tenders, to ensure contracts are won.

A successful candidate will be experienced in preparing analytical estimates and realistic tenders that ensures business sustainability through securing contracts. The successful candidate will have experience in pricing steelwork, pipework and it would be advantageous if they have experience in the Water, Industrial, Renewables and Oil & Gas sectors. A further function of the role is to calculate and prepare tender submissions, prepare accurate contract costs that deliver the full scope associated with the client brief, with appropriate levels of margin recovery to deliver the required project profitability.

Tender pricing will be prepared from drawings and detailed specifications provided by the Client or Ross-shire Engineering. On some occasions a high level budget price will also be required based on a scope of works only and this will require the candidate to deploy their extensive experience and co-ordination with the Ross-shire Engineering design and project delivery teams. Following tender submissions, there is a requirement to attend client meetings, and to negotiate and record all changes to the tender price as necessary. Essential requirements: a self-sufficient Estimator with experience in a similar role, holding suitable qualifications appropriate to the role, the ability to interpret drawings and specifications to allow the preparation of Bills of Quantities/Schedules of Rates and other such procurement documentation, and the ability to be able to read and understand the sequencing of programmes or schedules.
