Mechanical Design Engineer

Muir of Ord

Full Time

Based in our Muir of Ord office working within a multi-disciplinary design team, Ross-shire Engineering has an immediate requirement for a Mechanical Design Engineer. It is essential that the candidate will be able to:-

  • Liaise with engineers/managers in producing 3D Models and CAD drawings.
  • Compile design specifications.
  • Analyse components and structures for stress and deflection both using hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis
  • Complete required deliverables within allocated project time scales
  • Comply with company quality assurance procedures
  • Liaise with Clients and suppliers
  • Maintain CAD library

and must have a :-

  •  Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor (or SolidWorks)
  •  Strong design and technical skills
  •  A good appreciation of designing Fabrications and Machined Parts
  •  Good knowledge of MathCad and IT software
  •  The ability to work quickly and accurately with attention to detail required

It is desirable that the suitable candidate has:-

  • A formal Mechanical or Design biased qualification – HNC – Degree
  • A minimum of 3 Years 3D CAD experience of complex designs
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
